I have just finished the book trailer for my third book, which is not available yet, but will be soon. I am really enjoying the whole process of making the trailers and hope you like them too!
I was asked to do an author interview some time ago, but needed a book trailer and had no idea how to make one, then I won my first ever trailer in a competition from a fantastic book club I belong to called #RRBC. If you haven’t already heard of them, they are a really supportive and talented group of authors and readers who help it’s members to promote their work. You can take a look at their website here: www.ravereviewsbookclub.com and join them if you love a great read.
My first book trailer was such a revelation as I hadn’t really seen one before. It is such a great way to let readers know about an author’s work as it’s so visual and can appeal to a wide audience. My daughter, who is a complete technical whiz, then told me she would help me create my next trailer and set about teaching me some of the skills I would need to be able to start this new project! I decided I really should learn how to make the trailers myself as I have a background in illustration and design, but she has been an amazing help. I thought I was quite computer literate until she began teaching me and I found it quite frustrating that the programmes wouldn’t immediately respond to my every command!
I now think I have a handle on how to create an interesting trailer and have tried building one for my mum too, as she has a new book out soon. I have posted her trailer here too, as I am a very proud daughter of her beautiful work.
