Meet Nonnie Jules:

Q: Would you share some traits with us that make you unique?

A: Let’s see, some things that make me unique:

I am loyal to my friends to a fault. I mean, hurting my friends is like hurting me, and you just don’t want to hurt or cross me (I say that with a smile on my face, but I mean it!)

I’m always genuinely happy for people, friend or stranger, if they are successful or more blessed in certain areas than I am. I find we live in a world where jealousy and envy rule the day, and sadly, are the rules which most people live by; and I’m overly friendly! I am the person who speaks to every stranger who walks by, to everybody in the store, to the tree standing alone in the park. I’m very personable. Sometimes, people just stare, and so when they do, I alarm them by very boldly saying “HELLO!” It freaks them out and sort of puts a smile on their face for a millisecond, or at least until they get past where I can no longer see them. LOL

Q: Where is your favourite place to sit and write?

A: In the past, I would sit at my desk and write, but a couple of months ago, I created a WRITING ROOM upstairs in my home specifically for that purpose! It was an unused room, with a built in desk with shelves, simply beautiful! The room is so gorgeous, it makes you want to just relax in it. It’s calming, it’s me, and it’s all my space. I decorated it just right, so that when I sit in there and look around, my creative juices start to flow. Some of you fantastic authors who have mailed me books, well, I have your books on display in my new Writing Room. Maybe I’ll post a pic soon! Oh, and last week, I went out and purchase a gorgeous executive chair for my new space. Get ready for some new releases, people!

Q: What makes you smile, Nonnie?

A: Seeing kids happy! Seeing moms loving their children! Watching my husband sleep as the poor thing is kept so busy by us girls, he doesn’t get much, and seeing the reactions of little kids when they see their parents come home from long deployments of military duty. That makes me so happy, it also makes me cry. I know, I’m such a mommy!

Q: If you could ask anyone in the world to read your book or blog, who would it be?

A: Both my beautiful daughters! They are so un-impressed by what I do, if they would take the time to read just one of my books, I’d just die. I did catch my older daughter reading DAYDREAM’S DAUGHTER, NIGHTMARE’S FRIEND once, and I then overheard her phone conversation with a girlfriend, saying…”You should read this book my mom wrote! It’s actually good!” Actually good? Really, little girl. But, I don’t think she finished reading it, though. I’d like for them to read THE GOOD MOMMIES’ GUIDE… fully, though. Just so they can say “Mommy, you got it all right!”

Q: What was your first ever blog about?

A: Now, Lizzie, this is coming from the top of my head but I think it was about me introducing myself to the world, and I also think it was called “WHAT’S IN A NAME.” Basically, I was saying, “Watch out world, I’m about to make a name for myself…this name that will have meaning. This name, that you all will know and remember long after I’m gone!”

“If Only There Was Music…” The Poetry of Forbidden Love

This is a book of poetry for and about forbidden love. These poems are sexy, sensuous and hot, but most of all, they are poems of love… and the feelings they arouse in you are unbelievable! They “feel” like love songs and you will “feel” like singing, but they are only spoken words coming from your mouth, without music. If you aren’t in love before you begin reading this book, you will go seeking a love afterwards.

*THIS BOOK IS FOR AUDIENCES 18 YEARS OLD AND OLDER. NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN!

“She was one horrible mess. Always looking over her shoulder and avoiding becoming too friendly with the neighbors. That anxiety stemmed from a horrible place. Always fearing that someone would recognize her face, she kept to herself and didn’t go out much. And when she did, no matter the season, she wore some kind of hat or covering on her head, enough to shield her face.

Walter never understood why she was such a loner, avoiding people at all cost and just being very anti-social outside of the house. Houston was originally her home, not his, yet she didn’t even want her own family and friends to know that she had returned. The only person she found herself being able to really open up with was Walter. And although she tried to make him feel otherwise, he knew that there was still a huge wall up that even he would never be able to see over or climb.”

Marisa had a secret and if it was ever revealed, it would cost her her life and her freedom.

    • Lol:) I have the same problem with my dog. She seems to think its the most comfortable place in the world to rest her head after a busy half an hour running round in the garden chasing imaginary pigeons! Thanks for joining us Wendy. Have a great weekend.

    • My thoughts exactly Michelle. Although my new studio is smaller, it has a bigger desk and I sit looking out over the fields, which is really inspiring. You don’t actually need a lot of space, just a little area that inspires writing.

  3. I can really relate about the daughters not reading your book! Mine has never read my book either, but she did just ask that I donate one to her dance club for a prize, so I guess she can’t think too badly about it. 🙂 I think it’s just too unreal for them to think of their ordinary moms as having actual talent! lol I’m sure they’ll come around some day… we can always hope. 😉

  4. Every stop along the tour is such a delightful treat. Nonnie, it’s lovely to learn more about you. Your writing room sounds divine. I’m visually planning mine for when we make our final move after my husband retires from the military!

    Lizzie, you’re a terrific host! 🙂

    • Thanks Micki! Nonnie has a really soft side which balances the strong lady that she is. She shows this in the love for her family and friends and the way she supports others so selflessly. Starting a business like RRBC can’t have been easy, but it’s testament to her character that people support its ethos and so many new authors and readers want to join the community of people who love literature and enjoy discovering new reads. Have a great week:)

    • Thanks Linda. My studio was spacious, lovely and light. I now have a tiny room that has just enough space to fit my desk, if I don’t close the door! Lol! It does have a beautiful view from the window though.

  5. I enjoyed the Q&A. Feeling a little more comfortable using smart phone and Nonnie may have something to do with that too. Nice seeing you Lizzy again. Gotta go now.

    • Thanks for joining us today Kim. I had a lovely studio/writing room at home which now has a teenager sleeping in it! My eldest daughter decided it would be a great space for her and moved in! To be fair, her sister often kept her awake at night as she was unwell until recently, so she needed somewhere quiet to sleep. I think I need to buy a shed and make my own room to write there.

        • Great idea! I would love to take over the garage we do have and create a beautiful studio there. My husband has other ideas and it is full of gym equipment, unused furniture and boxes of tools! He loves pottering around in there, so the new studio might have to wait. I own a field, so in the summer, I go and write there. I enjoy sitting in the open space and scribbling notes. I have a writing tree that I built a bench around. It’s an inspiring place to write, but with the British weather is too cold to sit on for at least six months of the year!

  8. I must agree, having your children read your books is a thrilling experience. By the time Nonnie is finished there will be plenty for her daughters and grandchildren to read and enjoy – a fabulous legacy! Thanks for hosting, Lizzie!

  9. Thanks for stopping by John. I love the idea of Nonnie’s daughters being the ones she would like to read her books too. My eldest daughter is just about old enough to read one of my books, but seeing them enjoy something I have written would be the biggest compliment.
