Meet Nonnie Jules:
Q: Would you share some traits with us that make you unique?
A: Let’s see, some things that make me unique:
I am loyal to my friends to a fault. I mean, hurting my friends is like hurting me, and you just don’t want to hurt or cross me (I say that with a smile on my face, but I mean it!)
I’m always genuinely happy for people, friend or stranger, if they are successful or more blessed in certain areas than I am. I find we live in a world where jealousy and envy rule the day, and sadly, are the rules which most people live by; and I’m overly friendly! I am the person who speaks to every stranger who walks by, to everybody in the store, to the tree standing alone in the park. I’m very personable. Sometimes, people just stare, and so when they do, I alarm them by very boldly saying “HELLO!” It freaks them out and sort of puts a smile on their face for a millisecond, or at least until they get past where I can no longer see them. LOL
Q: Where is your favourite place to sit and write?
A: In the past, I would sit at my desk and write, but a couple of months ago, I created a WRITING ROOM upstairs in my home specifically for that purpose! It was an unused room, with a built in desk with shelves, simply beautiful! The room is so gorgeous, it makes you want to just relax in it. It’s calming, it’s me, and it’s all my space. I decorated it just right, so that when I sit in there and look around, my creative juices start to flow. Some of you fantastic authors who have mailed me books, well, I have your books on display in my new Writing Room. Maybe I’ll post a pic soon! Oh, and last week, I went out and purchase a gorgeous executive chair for my new space. Get ready for some new releases, people!
Q: What makes you smile, Nonnie?
A: Seeing kids happy! Seeing moms loving their children! Watching my husband sleep as the poor thing is kept so busy by us girls, he doesn’t get much, and seeing the reactions of little kids when they see their parents come home from long deployments of military duty. That makes me so happy, it also makes me cry. I know, I’m such a mommy!
Q: If you could ask anyone in the world to read your book or blog, who would it be?
A: Both my beautiful daughters! They are so un-impressed by what I do, if they would take the time to read just one of my books, I’d just die. I did catch my older daughter reading DAYDREAM’S DAUGHTER, NIGHTMARE’S FRIEND once, and I then overheard her phone conversation with a girlfriend, saying…”You should read this book my mom wrote! It’s actually good!” Actually good? Really, little girl. But, I don’t think she finished reading it, though. I’d like for them to read THE GOOD MOMMIES’ GUIDE… fully, though. Just so they can say “Mommy, you got it all right!”
Q: What was your first ever blog about?
A: Now, Lizzie, this is coming from the top of my head but I think it was about me introducing myself to the world, and I also think it was called “WHAT’S IN A NAME.” Basically, I was saying, “Watch out world, I’m about to make a name for myself…this name that will have meaning. This name, that you all will know and remember long after I’m gone!”
SUGARCOATIN’ IS FOR CANDY & PACIFYIN’ IS FOR KIDS!
Ever have things on your mind that you really want to get off, but you’re afraid you might hurt someone’s feelings? OR, you’re afraid someone just might get upset and BLOW UP at you? Well, NONNIE Jules speaks her mind and tells it like it is and she hopes that after reading this book, you will follow her lead! Her gift to you: A Backbone in a Book!
Author NONNIE Jules is sharing her straight-forward, shoot-from-the-hip method of saying what you mean, and meaning what you say. She has taken some of her most controversial and amusing blog posts and put them together in this one book for your reading pleasure. Enjoy!
“If Only There Was Music…” The Poetry of Forbidden Love
This is a book of poetry for and about forbidden love. These poems are sexy, sensuous and hot, but most of all, they are poems of love… and the feelings they arouse in you are unbelievable! They “feel” like love songs and you will “feel” like singing, but they are only spoken words coming from your mouth, without music. If you aren’t in love before you begin reading this book, you will go seeking a love afterwards.
*THIS BOOK IS FOR AUDIENCES 18 YEARS OLD AND OLDER. NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN!
“She was one horrible mess. Always looking over her shoulder and avoiding becoming too friendly with the neighbors. That anxiety stemmed from a horrible place. Always fearing that someone would recognize her face, she kept to herself and didn’t go out much. And when she did, no matter the season, she wore some kind of hat or covering on her head, enough to shield her face.
Walter never understood why she was such a loner, avoiding people at all cost and just being very anti-social outside of the house. Houston was originally her home, not his, yet she didn’t even want her own family and friends to know that she had returned. The only person she found herself being able to really open up with was Walter. And although she tried to make him feel otherwise, he knew that there was still a huge wall up that even he would never be able to see over or climb.”
Marisa had a secret and if it was ever revealed, it would cost her her life and her freedom.
The Good Mommies’ Guide To Raising (Almost) Perfect Daughters: 100 Tips On Raising Daughters Everyone Can’t Help But Love!
This guide is filled with 100 tips on how you can raise girls “everyone can’t help but love!” How did the author do it? You shouldn’t be fooled by the title either. This book is for anyone, male or female who has been blessed with the task of rearing girls. Single Dads, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles & Guardians, use this book to guide you on your own personal journey to success to your (Almost) Perfect Daughter!

It’s awesome to have a special writing place – I just have to train my cats to stop sitting on my keyboard!
Lol:) I have the same problem with my dog. She seems to think its the most comfortable place in the world to rest her head after a busy half an hour running round in the garden chasing imaginary pigeons! Thanks for joining us Wendy. Have a great weekend.
Awesome interview!! 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Non!! And thanks for hosting, Lizzie!! Looking forward to the next set of intriguing questions!!
Thanks for joining us. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by.
Well done, Lizzie! Nonnie, it’s fun to get to know you this way, little vignettes of your life. Isn’t it liberating to claim a space for your writing only. I don’t know how we do it otherwise!
Me either! I love my little creative space and find it an inspiring place to write. Thanks for joining us Robin.
Would love to see your writing room, Nonnie. Sorry to hear you lost your studio, Lizzie, but at least you have a nice view 🙂
My thoughts exactly Michelle. Although my new studio is smaller, it has a bigger desk and I sit looking out over the fields, which is really inspiring. You don’t actually need a lot of space, just a little area that inspires writing.
I got to see the writing room. Its gorgeous and comfortable. I’m going to have to do something about my cluttered room. lol
I hope I have encouraged you all to create your own WRITING ROOMS! We’ll share photos!!! Shirley, so glad you enjoyed seeing my WR!
Great idea Nonnie! We all want to see what your writing room looks like. I will show a picture of my little studio and my writing tree!
Me too Shirley. I have mountains of paperwork that are about to become an avalanche at any moment! Today is my day to clear it all up. I’m sure my studio will seem twice the size once they are filed away. I’m a firm believer that it’s easier to work in a clear, uncluttered space, but this doesn’t always work out in a small writing room!
I can really relate about the daughters not reading your book! Mine has never read my book either, but she did just ask that I donate one to her dance club for a prize, so I guess she can’t think too badly about it. 🙂 I think it’s just too unreal for them to think of their ordinary moms as having actual talent! lol I’m sure they’ll come around some day… we can always hope. 😉
We can dream! Lol. Thanks for joining us Sherilyn. I appreciate you stopping by.
Every stop along the tour is such a delightful treat. Nonnie, it’s lovely to learn more about you. Your writing room sounds divine. I’m visually planning mine for when we make our final move after my husband retires from the military!
Lizzie, you’re a terrific host! 🙂
Thanks Natalie. I really appreciate you joining us for Nonnie’s blog tour. There is so much to find out about her!
Nice job as a hostess, Lizzie. You brought the gentlness out of our fearless leader and I loved reading it.
Thanks Micki! Nonnie has a really soft side which balances the strong lady that she is. She shows this in the love for her family and friends and the way she supports others so selflessly. Starting a business like RRBC can’t have been easy, but it’s testament to her character that people support its ethos and so many new authors and readers want to join the community of people who love literature and enjoy discovering new reads. Have a great week:)
Well done Lizzie – great to find out more about Nonnie’s books. Excellent blog.
Thanks for stopping by Gordon. Nonnie has some new releases this year, so there will be more if her wonderful work to choose from!
LOL! I’m laughing about your daughter stealing your writing room, Lizzie! Thanks for hosting Nonnie. You two have made my ‘Reading’ day!
Thanks Linda. My studio was spacious, lovely and light. I now have a tiny room that has just enough space to fit my desk, if I don’t close the door! Lol! It does have a beautiful view from the window though.
I had to laugh about your daughter’s comment that your book was “actually good”. Sounds familiar. So great to see you being presented more to our growing community.
Thanks for joining us Linda!
What a beautiful post Lizzie, thank you for hosting Nonnie today. She is truly a unique lady, one in a million. Thank you Nonnie for creating #RRBC. It will remain your legacy.
Thanks Joy. It’s my pleasure.
It’s quite interesting learning more about Nonnie. These are really great questions. Thanks for hosting, Lizzie!
You’re welcome Beem. It’s been a real pleasure to host Nonnie’s books here today. I can’t wait to see what else we will discover about her on the next stop!
Thank you Lizzie for hosting Nonnie. It was a fascinating and tender read. Loved it!
Thanks Gwen. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by.
I enjoyed the Q&A. Feeling a little more comfortable using smart phone and Nonnie may have something to do with that too. Nice seeing you Lizzy again. Gotta go now.
Thanks for popping by Shirley:)
*Sigh* Yes, I get blamed for everything. LOL
Thanks for stopping by, Shirley!
Reblogged this on Kim's Author Support Blog.
Thanks Kim. I love your blog:)
You’re welcome, Lizzie!
And Thank you. I’m glad you like it. I like yours, too. 😀
Thanks Kim:)
Love the description of your special writing room. I bet it is lovely. I’d planned a similar room many years ago. Maybe one day I’ll get one. (Sigh) 😉
Thanks for joining us today Kim. I had a lovely studio/writing room at home which now has a teenager sleeping in it! My eldest daughter decided it would be a great space for her and moved in! To be fair, her sister often kept her awake at night as she was unwell until recently, so she needed somewhere quiet to sleep. I think I need to buy a shed and make my own room to write there.
You could buy one of those garages with an upstairs – put your office above the cars. My husband wants one of those to use the top for a man cave.
Great idea! I would love to take over the garage we do have and create a beautiful studio there. My husband has other ideas and it is full of gym equipment, unused furniture and boxes of tools! He loves pottering around in there, so the new studio might have to wait. I own a field, so in the summer, I go and write there. I enjoy sitting in the open space and scribbling notes. I have a writing tree that I built a bench around. It’s an inspiring place to write, but with the British weather is too cold to sit on for at least six months of the year!
No better time than today, Kim! Kick somebody out of something there in your house and claim your space!
I’m thinking of turning my guest room into a writing room. I figure we hardly ever have guests, but I write every day, right?
Sounds like a great idea! Or maybe have a sofa bed and a desk, so that the room becomes multi-functional?
All these great little tidbits about you, Nonnie! I’m having so much fun following this tour. Lizzie, thanks for hosting, and for asking some great questions.
Thanks Rhani. I’m looking forward to seeing the next posts too!

Thanks for hosting Lizzie 🙂
Me too. I can’t wait to see what the next questions will be! Thanks for stopping by Jan.
Great intro for Nonnie and RRBC, Lizzie!
You model your supportive nature in everything you do, Nonnie! It is so refreshing to see authors supporting authors at RRBC! That is a great legacy for you!
Thanks for joining us to support Nonnie today, Rebecca!
Extremely kind of you to say, Rebecca! Ditto! Now, will you take me on vacation with you???

Can we all go? 🙂
I must agree, having your children read your books is a thrilling experience. By the time Nonnie is finished there will be plenty for her daughters and grandchildren to read and enjoy – a fabulous legacy! Thanks for hosting, Lizzie!
Thanks for joining us John!
Thanks for stopping by John. I love the idea of Nonnie’s daughters being the ones she would like to read her books too. My eldest daughter is just about old enough to read one of my books, but seeing them enjoy something I have written would be the biggest compliment.
Another interesting stop on the tour Nonnie. I liked the idea of your daughters being the ones you would like to read your books. Thanks for hosting Lizzie.
