“The wolf looked up at her with those great yellow eyes and Rose saw within their wild storm of primitive emotions a spark of more than animal intelligence. She realised that she still had a sense of the man that had cared for her.” Vivid fantasy adventure

REVIEWS:

1. ‘The Awakenin of Magic: Book One of the Wereding Chronicles by Christian Boustead is a real page turner. Make sure that you have your seatbelt on because you’re going on the fantasy adventure ride of your life. Once you open the book it will grab you, hold you down tightly and the pages will turn and turn and turn some more until you get to the last page. You’ll even find some twists and turns that will keep you on your toes. I have read Christian’s other books but this is Christian’s first novel and I love it. He is a writer to keep watching, he just keeps writing and sending his books out of the ballpark. Eloo wakes up but Kye isn’t with her. So she sendsTung her pet wolf to find him. Eloo has always enjoyed the power of summoning because the focus of energy always has warmed her blood. Tung is Eloo’s pet wolf. He has always been there for her and has helped her when it’s been needed. They find Kye. Kye feels change is coming. He’s not sure what it is, but it’s on it’s way. “It feels like a sending…..” What is coming? Who will it affect? Will Wraith King’s prediction come true? I gave this book 5 stars but it deserves so many more. I highly recommend this book to everyone especially to those who enjoy reading fantasy and adventure. Now I wait for Book 2 and I am waiting anxiously for it. I can’t say I wait for more because I know Christian will be writing and putting out more great literary works.’

2.  ‘In this first novel from Christian Boustead, we are flung into a fantastical world and a thrilling adventure. Boustead has touched on this place before in his earlier writings, but here we see him expand on his ideas. I particularly like that he stays true to his previous work, and references a quote or statement from earlier pieces at the beginning of each chapter. This links the chapters in nicely and gives some depth and background to the book. The characters in the story are magical beings with great possibility, and I hope that we will be meeting them again in further chronicles by this author.’

A poetry collection covering such subjects as the elements, nature and dreaming.

REVIEWS:

1. ‘It’s about time I got around to reviewing this book. A wonderful collection of poems to make you think. it is not your everyday poetry book, but one that opens up a whole new world to you. well done to this author.’

2. ‘A rather thought-provoking set of poetry. I particularly appreciate the author’s honesty that is evident in poems such as ‘Aspirations’, ‘The Blind See’, and ‘What I Miss’, and I think it will elicit a gratitude from the reader for this genuine openness and insight into his life. The poems are at times a little raw and unpolished, but this only adds to their charm. I was able to lose myself in his words, a thoroughly enjoyable read and I am keen to read more of his work.’

Book link: The voice of nature.

A collection of 69 poems, some reflective, some playful, some with a poignant or comical twist … but all reveal Christian Boustead’s immense respect and love for the natural world.

REVIEWS:

1. ‘What I enjoyed most about these poems was the simplicity of the pieces – a bit like nature itself, I found them to be honest and beautiful, not complicated or contrived. Most poems are fairly concise and create an immediate impact. I would be happy reading these poems with my children, and I think they would be greatly appreciated by a younger audience as they sound really good when you read them out loud. I will definitely look out for other poetry from this author.’

2. ‘The overall feel of this book drew me in from the onset. A great appreciation for living things, and the ability to capture a certain beauty and convey this to the reader. The poems are predominantly about wildlife that we can all relate to when perusing from our back garden, but there are some wild cards thrown in to keep the reader on their toes. The largest poem, ‘The Raven’ is a playful question and answer session about what the bird has seen on it’s journey. I always enjoy the inclusion of mythology in Boustead’s writing and this was hinted at in this collection. My favorite poem was ‘Snowdrops’. A lovely book.’
