Introducing Lorraine Mace.

It’s a real pleasure to introduce you to a talented writer that I met in Spain recently. I was lucky enough to have lunch with lorraine and some other writer friends and I’m excited to share her work with you today!

Meet Lorraine:

Thank you so much, Lizzie, for inviting me onto your blog today. I am delighted to be able to tell your readers a little about me. I write what has been labelled crime at its darkest, which means I delve into the very depths of what humans can do to each other. However, the reaction I get most often when I meet readers is shock because (apparently) I look far too sweet and innocent to be able to write such dark material. Huh, tell that to my partner and children!

My novels are based in the UK, but set in a fictional town in the East Midlands, not far from Rutland Water. D.I. Paolo Storey is a decent man whose private life is a shambles, but whose work ethic is incredibly strong. He wants justice for victims and rages against a society that panders more to criminals than those who suffer as a result of their acts.

My books cover difficult topics. They are not for the faint of heart, but every reader, bar one, so far has given me fabulous reviews stating that I have never used violence or sex in a gratuitous manner. The lone dissenting voice (which was a one star beauty) said this: “I really cannot understand the great reviews for this book. It is just full of nasty aggressive people, and gratuitous violence. I read to go into a world of mystery and intrigue and I do not expect to be catapulted into the arena of blow by blow descriptions of utter violence.” Interestingly, it wasn’t a verified purchase, so I leave you to make up your own minds.

Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to chat to your readers, Lizzie.

  1. It’s nice to have met you, Lorraine. It sounds like your novels cover interesting topics. We sometimes don’t understand the motive of certain reviewers.

    Thank you for hosting, Lizzie!

  2. Hi Lorraine! It’s nice to meet you here:) I kind of think the one-star review sells your book rather than deters anyone…lol.
