Instead of my regular marketing post on Mondays, I thought i’d mix things up a bit. The reason is because I have been looking into website analytics and Google doesn’t like content that appears anywhere else on your site. This can be a title, like my Monday posts about marketing, or it can be a an overused photo, or a tag that you use to often. This means that although this isn’t my usual format, it’s still a post that might help you with your blogs, or websites, but presented in a different way!
I’ve been working towards finishing the promotional material for my blog tour for Ninja School Mum and each day I feel like I need to do more. I still have the author Q&A’s to write, the fun facts, the Twitter ads to design and now I have signed up for #NaNoWriMo without a plan at all, even though it starts today! My thoughts were that if I am about to publish a new novel and have an idea for the second book in the series, then I need to get on and write the sequel. If I write a few words a day, the community of writers that take part in this month long writing challenge, are working alongside me with their own novels to inspire me to do more every day.
I will post about my progress on my blog, which in turn refreshes the content and keeps everyone up to date on how the new novel and book tour are progressing. I know we all put pressure on ourselves to cram more into our days and this can sometimes seem impossible, but I am imagining myself having a well earned rest a while after launch date, preferably on a hot beach surrounded by piles of good books to read. I can dream… 🙂

You remind me of all the work I have set aside…I don’t think people realize how much work goes into putting books out there:) I like your dream of a beach and books:)
I dream about sitting on a beach and reading books, a lot! Lol:) You’re right though, putting a new book on the market involves a lot of hard work. It’s a good job we all have each other for support.
Yes, we are very lucky:)
It is a LOT of work to be a serious author and there is no way to sugarcoat it. You are an inspiration, Lizzie!
Thank you for the compliment Jan. I feel the same way about you! You have so many book signings and author events that you inspire me to push forward. Thanks so much for all of your support.
I am in awe of your ambition, Lizzie…reading about all the things you want to achieve this month is making me dizzy! Makes me feel a bit sad about my own determination, for it has been hiding behind the door for weeks…
Don’t be sad! You are amazing and always blogging and writing, so you can’t put yourself down. Marketing books is incredibly time consuming, especially as new authors. It’s great that we all support each other and make each other smile.
Thank you for such kind words, Lizzie…

Thank you for the reblog:)
