Hello everyone. It’s been a tricky time lately to find time to update my blog or get much writing done. We are still trying to find out more about our daughter’s allergies and it’s not an easy mountain to climb. I’ve been trying to fit in work commitments with family time and doctors visits. We have had more allergy test results back, but are now even more confused as we have yet to see the specialist for a better understanding of what those results mean. Basically it came back with 19 out of 22 allergens as positive and thats just from the ones we tested for most recently.
I’m trying to decide wether to give NaNoWriMo another try this year too. I attempted it last year, but I had a book launch coming up and a new manuscript to complete, so beginning again was tricky. This year, I’ve just finished a new book and while it’s in edits, I’m already thinking of my new characters and how much I want to get their story onto paper. Although the National novel writing month can be stressful, it also gives you an extra push to get those words written down.
I think I’ll probably give it a try. How about you? What writing projects are you trying to find time to finish before the end of the year?
Really hope you get answers soon, and hope you have a good time with NaNoWriMo! I hope to work another picture book manuscript, but hopefully it won’t take all of November to do, haha!
Thanks Susie. I can’t wait to see your picture book.
Sorry you are going through this with your daughter, but hope it gets all sorted out and life settles down to the new normal. I’ve never tried NaNoWriMo it’s a tough month for me to commit… never know though.
Thanks Denise. Give NaNoWriMo a try!
Hope you get your daughter’s allergies diagnosed soon, Lizzie. How worrying. And good luck with NaNoWriMo but don#t beat yourself up if you have to put it on the back-burner. Superwoman didn’t have a family…she didn’t even have a handbag for god’s sake, so just do what you are doing and be kind to yourself. .
Thanks Lynn. We have found out a bit more about the allergies and there will be further testing with a team at the hospital. We’re learning how to manage it:)
I have never attempted to put the stress of participating in NaNoWriMo but may give it a try someday. It sounds like you have more on your plate than you can say grace over, Lizzie. Hang in there!
Thanks Jan. It’s a busy time of year for everyone, but I quite like the idea of the challenge to get a book underway with NaNoWriMo. As the timings are good, I think I’ll give it a try. I haven’t done any planning yet though and it starts in a couple of days!
Good luck!!
I want to try Nanowrimo for first time- seriously missing not writing regularly since my second book launched!
Give it a try and let us know how you get on!
Go for it! Wishing you great success with your writing and book launch.
